
Scientific
expeditions

The expeditions are addressed primarily to university students, researchers, teachers, divers and shark enthusiasts and are aimed at collecting scientific data, in collaboration with Universities (Unical Cosenza and Unisi Siena ITA, Stellenbosch South Africa, La Paz Mexico .
Since 2000 the staff of the Sharks Studies Centre - Scientific Institute has traveled to South Africa to study the Great White Shark and collect data on the ecology and ethology of this fascinating animal.
Since 2016 the staff of the Sharks Studies Centre - Scientific Institute has also moved to Djibouti and Madagascar for the study of the Whale shark. The research focuses on the collection of ethological and ecological feeding data, from 2018 a new Project has been activated about the Grey Reef sharks Nursery surveys in Madagascar.
These are not holiday trips but scientific-educational expeditions aimed at collecting data and all participants contribute to the costs needed to rent the research boat, scientific equipment, transport, transfers, logistics, including donation to the CSS for its operation. P>
